今年下半年，威音在手持设备和电容触摸屏面板上的销售会大幅上升
大意：今年下半年，威音公司的销售将会大幅上升。因为从7月份开始，他将开始为国际上重要的手持设备商提供手持设备面板，并在今年下半年开始提供电容触摸屏面板。
这家面板厂商说他的3G TFT LCD工厂将主要为他的手持设备面板客户供货。因为这些客户在第三季度将会大量生产手机，所以在第四季度威音将会增加他的手持设备面板供货来满足市场需求。因此面板工厂的销售成为占威音公司收入的很重要部分。
针对电容触控面板，威音公司说，触控面板的销售所占公司收入的比重依赖于市场是如何接受这个产品。不过据消息来源提到，触控面板的销售和毛利对于威音公司而言，应该是非常不错的。因为触控面板的平均销售价格比较高而且提供类似产品的其他供货商也不是很多。

Wintek will see its sales jump in the second half of 2007, as it will start shipping handset panels to major international handset makers in July and capacitive touchscreen panels in the second half of the year, the maker said.
The panel maker said its third-generation (3G) TFT LCD plant will mainly support the handset panel needs of its customers. Its customers will roll out new mobile phones in the third quarter and Wintek may increase its handset panel shipments in the fourth quarter should the market demand be good. As a result, the plant will account for a significant contribution to Wintek's sales, the maker indicated.
The 3G plant has a monthly capacity to process 55,000 glass substrates, Wintek said in March.
The plant, purchased from HannStar in September of 2006, officially became the property of Wintek in October 2006. This March, Wintek said it was in talks with clients for related production and will soon send samples from the plant to clients, with the third quarter being a reasonable schedule for beginning of such production.
For capacitive touchscreen panels, Wintek said the degree of sales contribution from the segment will depend on how the market receives the product. However, sources said the level of sales and profit contribution should be fair for Wintek since the average selling price (ASP) for the segment is high and the number of existing suppliers is not many.
Wintek announced on July 2 its consolidated sales decreased around 10% sequentially to NT$2.13 billion (US$65.0 million) in June, with accumulated sales from January to June 2007 reducing 14% on year to NT$13.95 billion.
