3M Touch Systems tapped by Kristel for interactive digital signs

<p>大意是触控厂商3M跟伊利诺斯州的显示设备厂商Kristel达成合作协议,将会把3M的触控技术应用到Kristel的交互式数字设备中。</p><p>Touchscreen maker 3M Touch Systems Inc. in Methuen reports that it has cut a new deal with Illinois-based Kristel Displays Inc., incorporating its touchscreen technology into Kristel's interactive digital signs. </p><p>The agreement includes the addition of 3M's MicroTouch Dispersive Signal Technology into screen sizes ranging from 32 inches to 46 inches. Kristel has been including 3M's technology in its casino and kiosk products "for several years," according to company officials. </p><p>3M's touch technology recognizes touch by interpreting bending waves within the glass substrate created by the contact of a finger or stylus on glass. The company uses the platform in high-traffic applications, such as interactive digital signage, retail point of sale, food-service, hospitality, self-service and mobile handheld environments. </p><p>Financial terms of the deal were not provided. </p><p>3M Touch Systems is a subsidiary of industrial products giant 3M Co. (NYSE: MMM) and was formed in 2000 through 3M's $160 million acquisition of Methuen's MicroTouch Systems Inc. in 2000. </p><p>Kristel is a privately held organization that designs and manufactures high-resolution custom displays.
